"You must believe and thank God for being alive"

About Taka Higgins

bout Taka Higgins

Taka Higgins is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas a mother of two and a single woman with a mission. She was diagnosed with Crouzon Syndrome at birth, and had to undergo reconstructive brain surgery which is major for anyone especially a child. Along with surgery came recovery and psychosocial support. In school kids were cruel and without understanding her situation she was teased constantly. Taka did not know any other way to respond other than violently. As she grew she did get treatment and counseling which helped her learn how to cope. Taka now has children of her own diagnosed as well that would one day have to face the ignorance and ugly jokes. She works hard to prepare them for what is to be expected.

Early part of 2016, a cruel internet post from comedian, DUVAL went viral poking fun at her facial defects. Taka responded with her first thought violently threatening him. She was extremely humiliated that this man who does not know her would create a MEME ridiculing her disorder. Taka and Duval has since gotten passed this. This time the negativity played a positive role in her life by giving her a platform with over millions of followers turning her into an internet sensation.

Taka now thanks him and has created a message, “Little Ugly Girl Think She The Sh**” flaunting her new hair styles and outfits in videos on social media as a way to let people know she will not be defeated, and loves herself just as she is. She recorded a song, “Aye Jack” Little Ugly Girl Think She The Shit as a hook. This song is sending her message all over the world to all with whatever defects they may have they too can overcome. Her brand is growing now Taka feels it is time to begin traveling to spread positivity and share her story hoping to help someone else.  Abnormalities come in all forms; facial, size, speech, gender, and much more. Her goal is to unite with others that have this condition and others forming a group. Meanwhile to start she wants to be able to provide assistance with, self- esteem building, support through surgery, social awareness, and much more for those with Crouzon Syndrome.  Taka will begin with speaking out to educate the world.  Self- esteem is the first and most crucial component, and as stated in her video you must accept the most positive part of it all, “happiness to be alive”.
